Terms and conditions for using our snow removal services.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website or using our snow removal services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Services Description

Snow Plowing Halifax provides residential and commercial snow removal services in the Halifax Regional Municipality, including but not limited to:

  • Driveway plowing and snow clearing
  • Walkway and sidewalk shoveling
  • Ice control and salting services
  • Commercial parking lot plowing
  • Emergency snow removal
  • Roof snow removal

3. Service Agreement

3.1 Booking and Scheduling

  • Services are provided based on weather conditions and snowfall accumulation
  • Seasonal contracts include service for all snow events during the contracted period
  • One-time services must be scheduled in advance when possible

3.2 Service Triggers

For seasonal contracts, services are typically triggered when:

  • Snowfall accumulation reaches 5cm (2 inches) or more
  • Significant ice accumulation occurs
  • Customer requests emergency service

3.3 Service Window

We aim to complete services within a reasonable timeframe after snowfall ends. During major storms, service times may be extended due to high demand.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Pricing

  • Prices are quoted based on property size and service requirements
  • Seasonal contracts require payment in advance or monthly installments
  • One-time services are payable upon completion

4.2 Payment Methods

We accept payment via credit card, debit, e-transfer, cheque, or cash.

4.3 Late Payments

Late payments may result in service suspension. A late fee of 2% per month may be applied to overdue balances.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Ensure clear access to service areas (vehicles moved, gates unlocked)
  • Mark obstacles such as garden borders, curbs, or underground features
  • Notify us of any hazards or changes to property
  • Keep walkways clear of personal items

6. Limitations of Liability

6.1 Property Damage

Snow Plowing Halifax takes reasonable care to avoid property damage. We are fully insured for any damage caused directly by our equipment or staff. However, we are not liable for:

  • Damage to unmarked or hidden obstacles
  • Pre-existing damage to surfaces
  • Damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles

6.2 Service Delays

We are not liable for delays caused by:

  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Equipment breakdown
  • Events beyond our reasonable control

6.3 Slip and Fall

While we strive to provide safe conditions, we cannot guarantee ice-free surfaces. Property owners remain responsible for monitoring conditions between service visits.

7. Cancellation Policy

7.1 Seasonal Contracts

  • Cancellations before November 1st: Full refund minus $50 administrative fee
  • Cancellations after November 1st: Pro-rated refund based on services rendered
  • No refunds for cancellations after January 1st

7.2 One-Time Services

One-time services can be cancelled up to 24 hours before scheduled service without charge.

8. Insurance

Snow Plowing Halifax maintains comprehensive general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Proof of insurance is available upon request.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the applicable laws of Canada.
